Complimentary Exam
Your first visit to our office will be a free exam for you or your child. We may take photos of your teeth to show you certain orthodontic problems. We may also recommend a complimentary digital panoramic X-ray, if you don’t already have one. Dr. Brian will carefully examine the teeth for a wide range of possible orthodontic problems, such as crowding, crossbite, gaps, etc. We will also make sure we address your chief concern.
Once the orthodontist has a clear picture of the most likely course of treatment, we will discuss what type of orthodontic treatment is necessary, how long it will take, and estimate how much it will cost. You will understand everything you need to know in order to decide whether to proceed with braces in Lafayette, Colorado at Lafayette Family Orthodontics.
Records Appointment
After your complimentary exam, we complete the records and finalize the treatment plan. Complete diagnostic records typically include medical and dental history, clinical examination, additional photos of the patient’s face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.
After the doctor has thoroughly evaluated your diagnostic records, we will explain your treatment to you in detail and schedule you to get you started on your way to a beautiful, healthy, happy smile.
Regular Visits
After the records are completed, it’s time to get started, we’ll be ready to schedule the appointment to get your new appliances, such as braces or expanders, placed. Oftentimes we can schedule the completion of the records and placement of braces, delivery of an appliance, or 3D scans of the teeth on the same day to expedite the process and save you time. Getting appliances placed usually takes one to two hours. You’ll then see us at regular intervals four to six weeks apart for adjustments, which usually takes about 30 minutes.
Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
